Trump posted an AI-generated map calling the Strait of Hormuz “New U.S. Territory,” after repeatedly floating the idea that America should take control of the strategic waterway.
Iran says the strait will remain Iranian and won’t fully reopen unless the U.S. lifts its naval blockade and meets Tehran’s other demands.
The bigger shift is how casually AI is entering geopolitics.
AI propaganda is getting cheaper than diplomacy. The risk is that political messaging starts moving faster than governments can clarify whether something is a joke, a threat, or actual policy.

OpenAI launched a dedicated ChatGPT experience for teenagers with stricter safety defaults, parental controls, and protections around harmful or inappropriate conversations.
It is also going after AI cheating. Study Mode now pushes teens toward guided questions, quizzes, and step-by-step learning instead of simply handing over homework answers.
The obvious question is why this took nearly four years. Teenagers were already using ChatGPT at massive scale before OpenAI built a product specifically around their risks.
Stripe has reportedly agreed to acquire OpenRouter for more than $8 billion, only months after the AI infrastructure startup was valued at roughly $1.3 billion.
OpenRouter gives developers one access point to hundreds of AI models, letting them switch providers based on price, performance, or use case instead of getting locked into one lab.
Stripe is not buying a flashy model. It is buying the infrastructure sitting between developers and the model economy, which may be the more durable place to make money.
OpenRouter once called itself the “Stripe for AI.”
