Trump launched a new “Super Intelligence Force” led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton.
The group will coordinate how the US government deals with AI companies, infrastructure and the public.
Putting the intelligence chief in charge shows AI is now being treated as a national security issue, not just a tech story.
Trump still opposes heavy AI regulation, but Washington is clearly moving closer to the industry, not further away.

Longtime OpenAI employee David Robinson quit and said the company’s “culture is broken.”
His main criticism is simple: OpenAI moves fast, finds problems later and then adds more guardrails.
That approach works better for normal software than for AI systems that are becoming more powerful and autonomous.
OpenAI’s biggest tension is getting harder to ignore: the company needs speed to stay ahead, but speed is also creating more risk.
Musk says he plans to rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI after Trump pushed the term “Super Intelligence.”
For now, it is mostly a branding move, but Musk adopting the term could help it spread across the industry.
The problem is that “superintelligence” already means AI that is far beyond human intelligence.
Calling today’s AI “super intelligence” makes the technology sound more advanced than it actually is, which is great for hype and less great for clarity.

It also shows how hype can shape careers, investments and business decisions before the claims are independently proven.
