Google has officially acquired cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion, making it the largest acquisition in Google’s history and the biggest venture-backed exit ever.
Wiz builds software that helps companies detect and fix security risks in cloud infrastructure, which is becoming critical as more AI systems run in the cloud.
Investors say Wiz sits at the intersection of AI growth, cloud adoption, and rising cybersecurity spending, three markets that are expanding rapidly.
The move strengthens Google Cloud’s security capabilities as it competes with Microsoft Azure and AWS for AI and enterprise customers.
