Groq is reportedly raising $650 million from existing investors.
This comes after Nvidia’s strange $20 billion “not-acquisition” deal with the company.
Groq is now betting hard on inference, which is the AI work that happens after you type a prompt.
The big shift is clear: training models gets attention, but running them at scale may get the money.
Cognition raised $1 billion at a $26 billion valuation.
Its CEO says Devin is not meant to replace software engineers.
But Cognition also says AI agents write almost all of its own code.
That is the tension: AI companies say “augmentation,” but businesses may hear “smaller teams.”
