Alibaba just dropped a major AI bomb!

They’ve released 100+ new AI models called Qwen 2.5—and these aren’t your average bots.

These models are math and coding pros, and the best part? They’re open for everyone to use.

What’s the scoop?

  • 100+ open-source AI models for industries like gaming, cars, and science.

  • Super smart at math and coding, ready to use with no heavy training.

  • Text-to-video tool: turn your ideas into videos in seconds.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Alibaba’s also rolled out Qwen-Max 2.5, taking on AI giants like Meta’s Llama and OpenAI’s GPT-4.

They claim it’s superior in reasoning and language comprehension.

All of this is part of Alibaba’s big play to lead the AI race and boost their cloud game.

“The very nature of the technology itself – transboundary in structure and application – necessitates a global approach,” the final report from the UN Secretary-General appointed panel concludes.

“Equity demands that more voices play meaningful roles in decisions about how to govern technology that affects us,” the report states.

The best AI advice I can give is to learn how to fine-tune models.

2 years ago, training a model with >1B parameters was a pipe dream for most.

Now, you can:

• Train a 65B model on a single GPU

• Generate w/ 30B+ param models on the CPU

But best of all… (cont)

Apple is poised to revolutionize its virtual assistant, Siri, with the integration of advanced artificial intelligence.

Apple begins testing AI software designed to bring a smarter Siri to the iPhone 16.

You’ll need to opt out twice to stop LinkedIn from using your account data for training in the future — but anything already done is done.

According to LinkedIn: “Opting out means that LinkedIn and its affiliates won’t use your personal data or content on LinkedIn to train models going forward, but does not affect training that has already taken place.”

The bill, called SP 1047, would be the first US law specifically designed to prevent disasters caused by AI. This marks a big shift from the country's usual hands-off approach to regulating the tech industry.
